Atlanta, GA, April 06, 2018 –(PR.com)– Lyle Gore, Government Chairman of the United Network Equipment Dealers Association made the following statement:

“The United Network Equipment Dealers Association (UNEDA) is proud to have worked with The Owners' Rights Initiative to file an amicus brief with the Supreme Court for the upcoming South Dakota v. Wayfair case. It is imperative that the court considers the potential negative consequences that small and medium sized businesses face if several of the proposed changes to the current system are enacted.

"If the court were to reverse the Quill standard, then state-taxing authorities would have a strong incentive to audit out-of-state businesses. The new potential of auditing by multiple states would result in the creation of a huge burden on small businesses that engage in interstate sales. The cost of responding to so many of these requests would severely undermine the economic viability of these businesses.

"UNEDA will continue to aggressively advocate for secondary market rights. We look forward to tracking the Supreme Court’s upcoming oral arguments on this case and will ensure that companies are treated fairly under the law."
